Every summer, Wrocław attracts cinema lovers from across Poland and Europe. It is all thanks to the New Horizons International Film Festival, one of the most important film events in this part of Europe. The 26th edition of the festival will take place from 23 July to 2 August 2026, bringing together days filled with premiere screenings, meetings with filmmakers, artistic events and evenings spent immersed in the unique atmosphere of the city.
If you are planning to visit Wrocław during the festival, it is worth arranging not only your screening schedule but also the right place to stay. Located in the heart of the city, The Cyrus Hotel allows guests to fully enjoy the festival programme while discovering Wrocław between screenings.
For more than 25 years, the New Horizons International Film Festival has showcased auteur cinema, bold storytelling and films that push the boundaries of artistic expression. It is an event created for those who seek cinema beyond the mainstream.
The programme features premieres of some of the most acclaimed films from around the world, retrospectives of renowned directors, special screenings, exhibitions and music events. Closely associated with Wrocław for many years, the festival has become an integral part of the city’s cultural identity.
The full programme of this year’s edition will be announced on 7 July, together with the schedule of screenings, special events, filmmaker meetings and open-air cinema sessions.
The heart of the festival is New Horizons Cinema, located at Kazimierza Wielkiego 19a/21 in Wrocław. It is the largest arthouse cinema in Central and Eastern Europe and is situated just 450 metres from The Cyrus Hotel.
During the festival, screenings also take place across various venues throughout the city, with open-air screenings in the city centre attracting particularly large audiences. This allows visitors to combine festival experiences with sightseeing, strolls through the Market Square and evenings spent exploring the charming streets of the Old Town.
The New Horizons programme can easily fill an entire day, but it is worth setting aside some time to discover Wrocław.
